Thoughts for April
April is a time for changeable weather. Even Mother Nature had to pay an April Fool's joke by sending us snow on April Fool's day. Students need to remember to dress for the weather. It is easier to have a jacket and not need it, than not have one and suffer the consequences. Also, let's help our custodians out a little bit this month and remember to have outdoor and indoor shoes. It is really important to have a change of shoes for inside the school during this time of mud and sand.
Easter break comes upon us suddenly this year, right at the beginning of the month! Good Friday is April 6 and Easter Monday is the 9th. Please remember that the days continue as normal so Thursday is day 2 and the Tuesday we return will be day 3.
Remember, there are many exciting things happening in the classroom these days and this website is a great place to see what is going on. Pictures, work samples and class activities will be updated on a regular basis. Please be sure to check out the important dates below to keep uptodate on school happenings.

Communication with Agendas
Please remember to check your child's agenda daily. They should be completing their agenda everyday with homework and upcoming events from the classroom agenda board. I sign the agenda everyday and check to make sure they have what they need. Stickers are included for missed assignments, gym clothes, lates or behaviour as well as progress stickers. Keep an eye out for these.
Check out our new class Moodle!
Check out the link on the edmodo icon to get to our new class moodle. This is a place where the class long term assignments will be posted including assignment requirements and due dates. Students will also be able to access their grades for specific assignments using their edmodo login. Each student has their own private login and password. At the moment our class has their own group which will include all the assignments for their homeroom class. There is also a special place for their rotary group. If there are any questions, check out the edmodo site itself or contact me at my email address. We are looking forward to an exciting year using different types of technology in our class. Stay tuned for more!
We have our own Blog site!
Check out our new blog site. The students will be using this site to blog about things that are happening in the classroom from what they are reading to field trips or games in gym. Students all have their own logins and should be blogging at least once a week. This is part of their writing program and the students will be assessed on completing their blogs and the organization of their writing.

To encourage students to explore the site, I have hidden a link to a secret page somewhere on this website. In order to win the prize, the student will need to:
1. Find the link to the secret page
2. Look carefully at the page to find the question
3. Find the answer to the question
4. Write the answer (and your name) on a piece of paper, students may not use their Edmodo link to answer the question this time. 5. Leave the paper somewhere where Mrs. Winch will find it.
6. If anyone sees you answering the question or leaving the message for Mrs. Winch, you are disqualified from this round!
7. Students may not use a school computer to complete any of the above steps!
